For example, what is the real difference between data fabric and data mesh?

Their answer:

Data fabric:  Think of that as a net that is cast across your data sets. Where you’re building a virtual view of what your data landscape is. A technology integration path.

Data mesh: IT is not a technology path; instead, it is a service/methodology of how you build data products which then get consumed by various analytical tools. Data mesh is more about implementing what the fabric is providing.

Both are trying to address a core issue to try and integrate data across organizations and business users.
